According to Alvin Toffler, it is much more important to be imaginative than to be right. It’s one of the founding principles of foresight – a discipline born in the second half of the 20th century – which brings together a variety of methods that allow us to investigate possible futures, in order to be better prepared for the unexpected. How can 2033 inspire the decisions we have to make today? 

La Société des demains invites you to a foray into the possible futures of digital creativity, a foresight study conducted for Xn Québec. We’ll present the essential ingredients of the process and you will have the opportunity to discuss one of them, the weak signals, small parcels of the future already present but seldom perceived.

By exploring these signals, you will be able to better understand the trajectories of current trends, making possible the development of more robust strategies.

This roundtable will be moderated by Catherine Mathys and Patrick Tanguay, partners at La Société des demains

Catherine has been working in media for over 20 years. With a sociological approach and a prospective outlook, she approaches possible futures with rigour and optimism. She is also a member of the Association of Professional Futurists.

Patrick thinks about the impact of technology on society, culture, and cities, to understand the world and imagine better futures. His curation and synthesis is documented in his Sentiers newsletter, read around the world by a variety of actors and leaders from a broad range of domains, including the creative industries and foresight.
